PCM 3.0 Coding Issue
Hey guys,
I am helping someone with their PCM repair/Carplay upgrade.
I sent the PCM to Becker to repair the constant re-booting issue, and upgraded to Carplay while we were at it. The process with Becker went super-smoothly. However, once we re-installed the PCM in the vehicle, we have been unable to fully re-code the PCM to the vehicle using PWIS. The PCM must be re-coded and activate the AUX function for Carplay. It's behaving as-if the PCM was from another vehicle. To everyone's knowledge, the PCM is original to the vehicle.
Anyone have any insight into such a dilemma? Is there a way to research the PCM serial number and confirm if it is original to the vehicle (VIN)?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!

Hey there,
The original PCM 3 serial number is listed on the original build sheet which your local Porsche dealer (OPC) can print for you. You can get the same info from a website such as VIN Analytics too.
PIWIS will let you see how the PCM is coded and should allow you to change coding as required.
I hope that helps!

I’ll have to check but the PCM may need to be recoded with the VIN of the vehicle - it may have lost this if Becker reflashed the ROM in the unit. You can do this with PIWIS and then code for the Aux In.
Hope that helps

you need a unlock code purchased online and piwis to enter it. Can add functionality in there too at same time if wanted with other unlock codes.
