It seems the biggest deal with this route is the 15 band EQ. That alone can make a huge difference in sound quality. I have a 2010 GT3 and a 2016 GTS with Burmester, and it looks like a great option for both.

@Roman ACS is there a shop in So Cal that you have sent people to for install?

I don't send anyone to a shop in Cali.

Default Added wireless Carplay and more: 997.2 w/PCM 3.0

Does anyone know if the Porsche PCM 3 entertainment upgrade has the capability for a rear camera.
I've been looking at Mr12Volt(for my 997.2 Turbo S) and it seems like a great option. Just a little nervous doing all the required for the install
and don't have a shop close by that I'm comfortable with. I may just wait on the new PCM 3 upgrade if it has the option for adding a rear camera. Thanks.

The install in not very hard. We have lots of pics and video and minimal tools are needed. Plus there is no need about a pcm 3 upgrade, only speculation.

Mr12Volt is a great system as it seamlessly connects with the fiber optics of the vehicle, BUT, there are still some that cannot get the rear camera to work. Mr12Volt is still working on it and it appears the more options you have, the less straightforward it is to implement. YMMV.

The installation isn't that difficult. Running the camera wire to the rear of the vehicle and shoving the PCM back into the space (with the additional wire loom) are the most difficult parts of the installation, IMO.

The only issue is on very few pdk cars. There are no other issues. This can be resolved by using a trigger wire if you want to be sure.

Thanks for the clarification. Do the guidelines work as the wheel is turned if you splice into the reverse wires?

Yes, it should not be a problem.

will this work on a 997.2 with sat radio? I hear there is an extra component that will get in the way of installing the new board.

Mr12Volt kits bought through acsbyroman.com have the option for cars with or without satellite. I include the correct hardware to get everything mounted properly.

You can stack the XM and Mr12Volt video card using standoffs. I ordered these on Amazon. It is a tight fit running all the ribbon cables between the cards and the main board on the PCM, but it does work.

The other challenge is running both the XM antenna and one of the Mr12Volt cables through the same opening of the PCM chassis.

Amazon Amazon

Default Add steering wheel control

I have a PCCM+ in a 997.1, which I like. I think I am going to go the Mr 12V route with the 997.2. I like that it is wireless. In the other car I use this BT controller stuck on the steering wheel to go to next and to control volume and keep my eyes on the road.

Default Can’t Wait

I spoke to Roman who helped me pick the correct Mr12V. Can’t wait for it to arrive and to get it installed. I’ll report back later.
