PPI for 08' 997 Turbo
Hi all,
long time member on the 957 section with my CTTs I am now in the market for a 997 Turbo Tiptronic as I am looking to daily it for the summer months. Iam located in Greece and today I brought for an inspection a car that caught my eye. The car currently sits at 60K miles and the only mods are the Gemballa exhaust and a stage 1 tune. The report came pretty good, no accidents, almost new tyres, coolant pipes sorted and the front 2 radiators upgraded.
There is only one concern and my mechanic pointed out while I was there, there is a noise that comes from the chain, I don't know which chain if you ask me because I read somewhere there are 3 inside the engine. He said that the chain might be stressed and if we are looking to sort this out I am looking at a bill of 5K - 10K depending on what I will sort out while in there.
Is there a possibility that he might be wrong? He said if the price is good to buy it as the car is overall in a great condition.
Any input would be appreciated

Mezgers make vague chain rattling sounds just by nature. I think I've only ever heard of one or two cases where the chain actually had to be replaced.
