you said it perfectly. I bought a 2009 with 33,000 miles and it now has 52,000 miles 18 months later(and I don’t drive it in the winter). I bought a six year Fidelity warranty with 72,000 miles so I am good until 105,000 miles. My 13-year-old granddaughter wants to drive this car when she turns16 and I think that’s great. I did not buy this car for the next person

So cool to see the super low mileage cars. I'm not a fan of the color so wouldn't be in my wheelhouse (If I was shopping for a 997 TT) but I love the interior. I suspect the color will hurt the sell price but what do I know. The new owner will take comfort that his like "new" car will need a $5K to $10K coolant pipe fix somewhere down range, haha.
EDIT: Yep only sold for $100K, the color definitely hurt it.

Re: the auction, I am biased but I totally disagree. Atlas grey on a turbo in person is stunning. Pics don't do it justice at all. If anything it was the paintwork or interior.
If you go throughout the auction comments you'll see a ton of love for the color. 3k option if I remember correctly.

At that mileage, you command top dollar for being a collectible. And collectors want immaculate paint history and ideal option sheets. It had paintwork and kinda a less desirable option sheet. With better options and clean paint, it would've commanded another $10-20k.
Put another way though, despite being driven only 900 miles, it had depreciated ~30% since brand new. Not exactly an appreciating asset considering the cost of ownership all those years too.
On another note: 996tt's are spiking right now.
