Maintenance Records
Just bought a 997.2 turbo S with 83,000 miles. I want to avoid the stealership at all costs. My independent shop, Import Motor Works, in Cary, NC says they have no access to records. I want to find out if the PDK and/or clutch have been serviced at 60k. Any suggestions?

Look at the carfax for past services. Sometimes you get lucky and they list what was done. It should also show who serviced the vehicle. Call that shop/dealer with the VIN and they may look it up for you. I went to the dealer where my car was serviced and they printed copies of all the work that was done by them.

Do you know what, if any, dealerships the car was serviced at?
I personally used that info plus the last 5 or 7 digits of my VIN and was able to get a servicing dealership to give me details on historical service. Including confirming the clutch was not replaced during a clutch accumulator failure repair.

I used Carfax to check service. You can even call the places listed to check what was performed. My Turbo S has 57k miles but it was sold CPO so I insisted that all service (including PDK and plugs and drive belt) be performed since it is either mileage or years.
