WTB: Manual 997 Turbo

Hi everyone, just signed up here as I am in search of a 997 turbo. I have always loved the 997 TT but never seriously considered one until the past couple months when I saw a few at a local C&C and it sparked my interest again. So much so that I listed my car and sold it within 3 weeks. The buyer flew in to pick up my car last night and drive it home cross country. I had a 2018 Audi RS3 that was extremely comfortable and very quick, just didn't excite me to drive it....especially with no manual option. So now that my car is gone I am ready to take the plunge and have been watching the various classified sites for the past month.

I am somewhat flexible on what I am looking for but here is roughly what I would like to find -
Coupe Only
Color - Anything in the blue, red, grey or possibly white. Black is the only color I can't go for right now (had 3 black cars before and I know I don't have the time to keep that color looking good)
Interior - Prefer black but open to other colors potentially.
Trans - has to be a manual. Only MUST.
Options - Sport Chrono and Adaptive Sports seats are my biggest wants. I also like the PCCB's but not a requirement.

Budget - $80k or so is where I can go to. I may be able to stretch that for an ideal spec'd car.
I am outside of Philly but will go anywhere in the lower 48 for the right car.
If you're thinking of selling and want to chat, feel free to contact me. Thanks!

997tt

Couldn't agree with you more that a 997tt is a much more involving drive and the last of the series with a 6 spd and the Mezger motor.

You mentioned the wants, and I'd agree with you except I'd add Axle Lock but would open the seating option to include the "normal" seat....they work well unless maybe your planning to track it. Yes Ceramics are cool, but for 99% of street use they're only for show

You didn't mention mileage or condition, which play a big role in value. The $80k + goal is reasonable for a 997.1tt, most likely an 07 or 08 and depending on mileage/options/condition.....I assumed you're looking only for a coupe.

Good hunting.

Look at the spreadsheet post some good ideas and research there.

Good luck with your quest! One other point, I swapped the steering wheel and diff on my car for the optional/upgraded OE parts after the fact. Costs more but broadens your car search pool further. PCCB and Carbon Sport Seats are prohibitively expensive to add afterwards, though. I would have loved to have an Aerokit car as that's another cool rare option that's super $$$ and/or totally impossible to add later (find parts) anymore.

rocco20v, good luck

They’re out there. I looked a long time. For me it’s all about the 6 spd. IMHO the cars appear to be appreciating. The Manuals especially, good luck👍

I will dump mine when I can recover my original investment. One camshaft slip away from thousands of lost revenue. Good luck.

Dude, why do you come on almost every post on a 997.1 and try to crap all over it. We get you don't care for 997.1s yet thousands of others do and the market speaks for itself.

If you are going to post, I think we would all rather you speak the truth instead of us trying to interpret truth vs sarcasm. I think the forum realizes that if it isn't a 997.2 or a Europipe exhaust, you don't like it. I have a 997.1 and a speedtech exhaust and am quite happy. Thank you and have a nice day. :)

The EP is a quality exhaust system that is unmatched from any conceivable performance metric. Its the best investment and modification you could do to that car. I had one from a competitor that was so protruding out of the rear bottom bumper that i couldn’t live with it. Won’t mention the vendor. Aesthetically, nothing fits like the EP and nothing sounds like the EP. in fact, after hearing one on the car, the other was probably the quickest removal of a component.
Second, the 997.2 Turbo S is a better designed overall package. The engineering in input flow is based on velocity. Look at the 997.1 Turbo intake, it looks huge compared to the 997.2’s system. After the intake it’s tiny compared to the 997.2. It’s just a total departure from the Mezger. Car outperforms on every metric. No comparison other than the body lines.
