Default 2009 TTT steering wheel question

I picked up a 2009 TT 6MT, it has the Carrera Red interior, which I love. It goes well with the Meteor Grey exterior. The only thing that is driving me nuts is the red steering wheel. It is the sport steering wheel. Can I put the 997.2 steering wheel sport or otherwise? And since it is the new PCM can i put in the heated steering wheel with multifunction? Could I have specifics and cost of what would need to be done? Or am i better finding a black one and just sticking to the sport wheel? It looks like it would be about 1000K plus to get it done including an airbag. Seems steep, would almost rather put that towards a tune or towards the DSC suspension tune. The car only has like 33k miles on it but the steering wheel is worn and looks like ****. Thanks for your help!!

Regarding your 997.1 to 997.2 steering wheel swap questions, there is a discussion in this forum on the topic.

Alternatively, I'd simply take it to a reputable upholstery shop and have them refinish it. You might also consider beefing it up (thickening it). Search the topic in the 997 forum - there are plenty of suggestions there are well. Good luck :-)

You can put just about any Porsche wheel you want on it, I just upgraded mine and was at a friends today whi has a 991 wheel in his. You will need the airbag, wheel and a new steering wheel control module. The module is 350.00 new however I found a used one for 170.00. You will have to have the module programmed for the options you want.
