Default 2 QUESTIONS

I have tried to dim the center display for the tachometer, but it is stil too bright for me. The numerals remain very bright even though I have it on the lowest setting. Is this normal? Is there any way to dim it further? Second question, when is auto-recirculation on or off? In other words, is it on when red light is illuminated or is it off? The manual is unclear and does not say. Thanks in advance for your help.

Your dash illumination lights rheostat may be bad but this would be the first time I've heard of this on any of the Porsches I've owned. On some iterations of the 911 the dimming **** does have a different brightness range but on my 993 for example, I could turn it down so there was no light whatsoever on the dash, ie: off. Perhaps just a variance by models, I'd try to find someone with a similar car and side by side test. The dash light rheostat on my TT does dim down, but the lights on low setting are still brighter than other models.
Recirc is active when illuminated, inactive when not illuminated.
