That was pretty great. The Vette appeared to be the faster car, but the Porsche was well driven.

One of the most exciting races for this series !!! Both drivers were fantastic, but Burnmeister appears to be the better driver, although Matthison has guts

I watched every race in those days. Every time it was close like that at the finish, the Corvette would punt the Porsche. The Porsche drivers never drove like that. So in this particular race, I was sure it would happen again. Was just waiting for it to happen. Could not believe when it backfired on the Corvette!
