Default New to me, 3rd time is a charm

I’m super excited to finally have a 997 turbo!! It is a car I have wanted for years and this week it became a reality. I posted my PPI results on here and I had some good feedback from you all - no red flags so I pulled the trigger. 2008, 32k miles, all maintenance records and a GMG exhaust. The car arrived on Tuesday, Wednesday got a full detail and tinted windows and today I added the decals. I’ve ordered wheel spacers and may order springs, and that will likely be it for the time being.

3rd time is a charm

One just wasn’t enough

This started it all

I am going with ECS spacers. Consensus on this forum seems to be 7-8mm in the front and 12-15mm in the rear, so that is what I am going with for starters. It also seems the consensus springs are Eibach based on considering durability, ride comfort, performance, price and looks. I will post once installed and you can use that as one point of consideration.

You want 15mm in the rear - - it's not too much. I went with 5mm in the front - - others do 7mm. There's honestly not much difference, but I liked having the extra hub stickout for wheel centering on the front.

I also switched to Rennline studs at that time - - really nice product. Makes holding the spacers and installing the wheels much easier.

Very nice car! I first fell in love with these cars when my Dad used to lease them in the 70's through the early 2000's. My favorite of his cars was a 1984 SC Targa with a Whale Tail in Silver/Black. That car got so much attention, and while it wasn't a Turbo, it just looked mean and fast.

I recently took him for a ride in the 997 and one of his comments was, "This is much faster than any of the Porsche's I ever owned." He is certainly correct about that.

Good luck with it and enjoy!

Thanks Ed, looks like silver and black suits you well too. I loved the whale tails.
