Default TopSpeed Motorsports / Cobb Tune

I'm brand new to the water cooled Porsche turbos but now I understand what all the fuss is about! I've had mine for about 6 weeks now, but most of that time has been spent having some work done. The prior owner had drilled in the front Cali plate instead to attaching a bracket, so that had to be addressed first. Then the car went to my friends here in Atlanta at TopSpeed. They have been taking care of my Porsche's for the past 10 years or so. They installed the BBS wheels, lowered the car with a set of TechArt springs, installed a Europipe, and then custom tuned the ECU and PDK with a Cobb Accessport. The car is simply amazing with the tune and in my opinion looks better dropped about an inch. Unlike many of the tunes out there, this one is very linear and the torque drop off is gradual and the HP surges all the way to redline. Extremely smooth for a guy used to single turbos and NA motors.

The stock motor with the Europipe installed made 484HP/508Tq to the wheels. After the tune we saw those increase to 572/597 to the wheels. I don't have a file to show the chart, but Cicio from TopSpeed may be able to add to this post if he sees it. The car drives incredibly well, and the shift points in Sport mode are crisp and smooth. SportPlus is pretty aggressive for my taste, but some may like it.

Looks great! The 997.1TT that I recently bought from CA also has the front plate drilling problem. I was just shaking my head after removing it. If you don't mind, could you share where you had the fix done and how much it was?

That is a great looking car. I love these cars in white. They are just so sharp.

You can't go wrong with exhaust and a tune. What other plans do you have for the car? Besides driving it and enjoying it. haha

I also could not believe my eyes when the car came off the transport. I just never thought someone would drill holes.... so I have a great paint/body guy recommended by TopSpeed. He told me they cant plug the holes, or they end up showing over time as the bumper heats and cools off (the plugs at a different rate). So he heated and stretched the bumper itself over a few days, finished it, and then painted. I waited a few weeks and the reinstalled the clear bra. Looks perfect. I had them paint the little silver planes in the front intakes black at the same time (they were silver). All in $1200.

I am intrigued by the DSC module from TPC and I think I will pull the trigger on that and call it a day for a bit. Anything Tom puts his name on is likely good stuff! I am not a track guy but we have some crazy good mountain roads about 45 minutes from Atlanta that are a ton of fun in a well tuned suspension.

Love what you've done with it. 997 turbo plus BBS plus suspension and Europipe is perfect. Any exhaust clips?

Looks great! Red center locks set the wheels off quite nice.

Looks good. Nice mods. I too have a Carrara white turbo. (there's a typo in your sig)

I used Bumper plugs for the license plate drill holes (4 !).
They've been in for about two years and I don't see any difference in color. Clear is under plugs.
Obviously painting is a better solution, but the plugs were $50.

What are your wheel specs? BBS LM? Look great.

Beautiful car and results! I can’t speak highly enough about topspeed, Cicio, and Taylor. Hands down the best of the best. We are working on a little something special on my 991 at the moment which should be public very shortly. These guys rock. Customer service and support is second to none. These guys will have the Porsche game cornered very very soon . Cheers guys and thank you!

Thank you for all the kind words, Phil! This car is cleaner than most five star dinner tables and was definitely a favorite of everyone's at the shop!

Graphs are below!

Hi,
I have a 997.2TT with a manual transmission and no modifications. I am looking into purchasing a Cobb V3 Accessport. I would appreciate any and all opinions but pro and especially con for me doing this.

I will let the customer chime in here too but I can tell you that if the person you buy the accessport from is knowledgeable and you choose the correct tuner there are zero cons to doing it. The car runs smoother, faster and there are no short or long term I’ll effects on the engine.

Feel free to provate message me if you would like any detailed information.
