Default Front brake pads for PCCB converted to steel?

Hey guys,

I swapped out my front PCCB rotors to steel Brembo type 3 for track use and kept the OEM yellow calipers. It came with Pagid P90ff pads and would like to upgrade to a hybrid street/track pads such as Ferodo DS2500. My problem is trying to figure out which one will fit? Anyone know the part number for the DS2500? Is this pad a slight upgrade to the P90ff for the track?

Is there a year/model car that matches this setup in pad size that I can use to find pad replacements?

Thanks.

Just got an email response from Apex Performance regarding my question, the Ferodo DS2500 pads part# FRP3075H should fit. I went ahead an ordered them but was curious if anyone has any ideas how it compares to the Pagid P90ff? Thanks.

I will be replacing my 2007 Turbo PCCB rotors with Girodisc iron rotors and wanted use Ferodo DS2500 for street/track use. Did the Ferodo DS2500 pads part# FRP3075H work out for you? Did you have any fitment issues? Also, what is the Ferodo DS2500 part number that fits the rear yellow caliber as well?

Thanks!

The DS2500 FRP3075H will fit the rotor and caliper fine. I sell a lot of Ferodo and know what fits what for Porsche. Here is a link to the pads. Contact me for special pricing. https://apexperformance.net/product/frp-3075h-ds2500/

I’ve just finished a 4900km road trip that included 4 track days, and was running DS2500’s. They worked well, but I have a suspicion that the pads have glazed on the last couple of track days as the rotors look way to shiny and the pads look a little crumbled on the edges. Will pull them out in the next week and take a look.

Sounds like it's time to step up to dedicated track pads DS1.11 which I've tried, works well for track use (better bite and higher temp range before fading) but squeals too much for me on the street. I will be going back to DS2500 as I don't want to switch pads between track and street pads and I'm still a slow intermediate driver. But I got to address my slipping stock clutch first...

Rennlist members,

I would like to give a huge shout out to Clark from Apex Performance. I recently posted an inquiry about converting my 997TT PCCB rotors to Iron rotors. Clark responded immediately was a super helpful in recommending a set of Griodisc rotors and Ferodo pads. The purchase through Clark and his shop Apex was effortless and I received the rotors and pads very quickly. I would highly recommend Apex Performance and the awesome customer service from Clark.

Let's do all that we can by supporting business folks like Apex Performance during these crazy times when retail shops are closed due to Covid-19 quarantine. It's a great opportunity to do some wrenching while being quarantined. Feel free to give Clark a ring.
