Electrical Humming when the car's door is open
Hi Folks,
Quick question as I'm just getting to know my '09 TT Cab after finally picking it up from a long storage after I bought it a while back.
When I open the car door (drivers or passenger), I hear an electrical humming. Just like you would hear in older style light bulbs. It goes away (or is drowned out) when the car is running, or when the doors are all shut.
I'm assuming it's the interior lights (or illuminated door sill - my favorite feature!) that click on when I open the door, but wanted to double check if other cars do this. Or is it indicative of a electrical problem.
Thanks for feedback.

It is on my 2009, only one side does it. Sounds like an old fluorescent. My guess is that LED technology was not fully mature when they included this feature on the cars, and they tend to get noisy as they age. Doesn't appear to be a significant problem, however, I just tune it out.
