Default Hunting for the right 911 Turbo

I've been searching for a nice 911 Turbo in 6 speed for a few months now. Looking for an 07-09 with sport chrono, adaptive seats, black interior, carbon interior be nice sub 30,000 miles under $74k or so.

I see some cars but they are either beat to hell, 5+ owners, accidents/paint work, modded and tuned to heck or I miss out on them. I see a lot of cars sitting in the 80K+ range and I really want to be able to put some miles on this car, but not take a bath on resale as the cars with 50,000+ are selling the high 50s low 60s.

I really don't want to settle on a car, but i'm willing to buy from anywhere all over the US.

With our limited nice weather here up North I'm getting more and more impatient. I follow all the online sites daily to see whats posted.

Am I being unreasonable with my wants?

Good luck trying to find those specs at that price point. I'm sure you can find some in the low 70s but are going to have higher mileage or other not as attractive features. Prices are going up on these, not down.

I think you answered you own question. THe market is what it is. Either pay up, change your requirements, or roll the dice and try to wait it out.

I could be wrong but unfortunately at this point, you may have a tough time finding a 6MT under 30K mi at that price point. If you're looking for a driver car, I would consider somewhat higher mileage. Condition is what really counts - these are stout cars built to last, if taken care of properly.

Seems the three options are:
1 - up the budget
2 - be more flexible with requirements/wants
3 - keep being patient

Tough to find a deal online as it seems most people know what they have and won’t let it go cheap. GL.

I may be wrong but I see 40-60K mile cars in the 70's consistently. 30K miles or less would be asking $74 - $85 K. I think you have to start looking at higher mileage cars that have been well taken care of and/or good "history" as many have 3 - 4 owners. I also assume you know the manual transmissions are going for 10% more than automatic?
My research tells me the 07 - 09 Turbos are good cars and fairly bullet proof. I did pay up to get very low miles, and may "pay" for doing that in the future.
Besides PCA , Bring a trailor, and here, I would also follow Cars.com, Autotrader, 6 Speed online, and PellicanParts.
I think you will find a clean 45k mile car for $74,000.
Good luck with the hunt!

Bro -- $80k is the number you need to get to for 6MT and < 30k miles. And even at that you're going to need to find a hell of a deal. $83-85k is a more realistic budget.

I just paid $84k for 24k miles, 6MT. Missing adaptive seats, but I got PCCBs.

The only way you get one for $74k is to increase your mileage tolerance to between 30k-50k miles.

These cars are cheap for $80. If you are targeting $75 to feel good and right for the car, that the problem. Just give the $80 and start driving. These cars are appreciating in value as we speak and $5k you will get in 1 year after owning it and still driving it.

I just sold my car recently and basically got a free car for 18 mons and some money in my pocket. That was my third 997 TT(2nd MT). I have my 4th 997 turbo but on a turbo S. I do not consider it an upgrade but a lateral transfer. A 997 TTS is on a PDK but they only made 2000 units in its entire production. The 997 body is what you get for an S.

I recommend the 997.1 TT. The engine sound is different from the 9A1. I predict this model will overtake the .2 for collectibility.

In 10-20 years, what will matter is if it is a mezger or not.

I totally agree that $80k is too cheap for these cars...the market is finally realizing and they are trending upwards.

To me it looks better than a 991 Turbo, it's the right size, it's old school yet modern and you can row the gears in a turbo...all for 80k? You kidding me?

Then you can mod the heck out of it and blow the doors off of anything and the motor is bulletproof.

How much is a Bnew carrera $120-130? BNEW M5 $120-140? BNEW GT3 $170?

But a low mile pristine 997 Turbo for $80 and still some people cannot open their wallet for it.

No disrespect but buy an E90 or E46 M3. Thats cheap enough, easy to maintain and good enough for the canyon roads.

Look at this way in a sellers perspective.. What can you get better for the money?? You are being unrealistic, no one will let a good example go for cheap. That is why you are still searching and not driving

hope you are correct but I seriously doubt it. I have been chastised for saying that this model would be the last I would buy. For my money it’s the 997.2 Turbo S PDK. I was into the Mezger camp, not anymore and I own one. It’s my last Porsche, living with it.

If you're planning to put significant mileage on the car it makes more sense to me to not look for a low mileage one. Say you put 30k on. I would expect that to affect the value more going from 30 to 60 than from 50 to 80.
