997 Turbo Advice
Looking to add a 2009 911 Turbo Cab to my stable. Any owners out there care to weigh-in with advice or cautionary tales on this vintage and model? It has less than 18,000 miles, manual tranny, leather interior and based on a quick look around been taken care of. If I get more serious I'll do a PPI just want to know of things to look for from experienced owners. Thanks!

Mostly just regular PPI stuff. The 07-08 Turbos have a history of leaking coolant pipes, although supposedly Porsche fixed it for the 09s and anecdotally they seem far less affected by the issue. Still, probably worth having the PPI mechanic look extra closely at the pipe fittings for signs of leaks.
A less common "gotcha" is 2nd gear pop-out, where the transmission can pop out of gear if you abruptly start coasting in 2nd down a hill.

Not many 09 manuals out there.....you get Mezger engine and updated interior that I believe has bluetooth...

The 2009 turbo is a great car. It's a 'tweener, with some 997.1 features and some 997.2 features. The exterior, engine, and drivetrain are exactly the same as the 997.1 car. This means Mezger engine, as mentioned above. The interior has the 997.2 updates. This means PCM 3.0, optional ventilated seats, and black plastic trim as opposed to gray plastic trim. Everything else is identical to the 997.1 cars. The PCM system is an improvement over the PCM 2.1 found in the 997.1 cars, but it's out of date. It sometimes offered bluetooth telephone connectivity, but not streaming bluetooth music. It could be fitted with Sirius XM too. On the exterior, the 2009s offered optional center lock wheels.
As mentioned above, a 2009 6MT is fairly hard to find these days. It would be a great addition to the stable, but don't discount a 2007 or 2008 car if this one doesn't work out.

Thanks to everyone for your input/encouragement. In case any of you are interested in this specific car it's located in Tulsa, OK at Jackie Cooper Imports (super people). I took my 991.2 C2 to the track this weekend for the first time this past weekend. Holy cow, what a blast that was. While there I got to take some laps in a GT3 (incredilble). Thanks again to all and enjoy your cars!

Nice folks, perhaps not quick. I suspect they float these vehicles to their wish list customers before getting serious about posting. Just a guess or maybe lazy as you said. I've seen car and very nice. Good luck if you go for it. I'm 90% sure I'm not going that way.
