Question Loose hose or broken turbo?

I own a 2008 997.1 TT 6MT which I bought new and it only has 15k miles.
Whilst overtaking today I heard a sound from the engine area of air escaping, like I had the window open slightly. I checked the on board computer and when I floored the pedal, the turbo pressure did not go over 0.4bar. I drove the car home slowly, and plan to take it to my OPC, who have serviced it since new, sometime next week.

Has anyone experienced this, could it be just a loose connection or is it likely to be a broken turbo?

Lastly, if anyone believes it is better to have my OPC collect the car on a trailer, please feel free to warn me, although a 15 mile drive home was uneventful with no smoke coming from the exhaust.

99.999% you have had a pressurized hose pop off. The most common culprit is the ribbed rubber tube that connects the plastic y-pipe to the throttle body. Pop to engine lid and check that it's seated on the throttle body correctly. You can also see the two y-pipe to intercooler hose connections on the left and right side of the engine bay - check those two as well.

Finally, you can lay on your back and stick you head under the rear bumper with a flashlight to check the bottom intercooler connections on both sides.

My money is on the rubber tube connecting to the throttle body. Very common and mine did it non-stop until I just ponied up $200 for a new hose. There is some oil that naturally gets to our intakes, which will swell the rubber hose over time. Eventually, it just doesn't seal up correctly on the throttle body no matter how tight you crank the gear clamp down.

Guys, thanks very much. I took the car to my OPC this morning, and without evening opening the hood the service guy was sure it was a hose. It was due to go in for the change from winter to summer tyres anyway, so they will do both jobs together.
