In 2008 or so I would push lowering springs on the stock units, but now these cars are 10yrs old, I think just adding springs to oem dampeners will just hasten their failure. I'd recommend the B8s bc they are designed for lowering springs, originally designed for porsche tequipment as the 997 version of the old 996 x73.

I considered the B8’s wish I had done them. Out of all the mods I have done, removal of the springs were the worst! The job of doing it not the Eibachs.

Just ordered up some Eibachs. Already have the DSC controller which was a great upgrade in itself.

I had X73 on my 996 turbo, which consisted of Bilstein dampers, Porsche springs, and 964 RS motor mounts. Loved it.

Bilstein B8s + springs + mounts + DSC + rear bar should be on par or better especially since the existing is now 10 years old.

I don' t the age of the shocks is as important as how many miles are on the shocks.

I got same email. I'm just gonna wait and hope that they get here earlier.

They told me it was about a month lead time when I ordered.

I never bought them and regret not doing it. Much better design than OEM. The OEM’s have the wire exiting thru a bore thru the main bolt. Weak point since it’s not solid like the B8’s. Maybe in the distant future, I might just go thru the headache again. A freaking nightmare removing that stuff. I rather remove the engine then do that again. What’s the cost of a set, I forgot?

About 1500 for the set plus springs.

No issues with H&R springs on my 996 turbo after hard track use for years.

nzskater, would love to hear more about the DSC custom map. I didn't even know you could load a different profile on there!!

I find this ride height perfect and there is no bottoming out on our roads in Monterey.
I have H&R springs on my 08 tt and the ride height in perfect. The ride quality is actually softer that what I expected from reading people's comments. Darin Fister did the installation and alignment. There were issues and the car now looks and handles as it should. I also have H&R springs on my 98 C2S and 91 964 and have no issues with sag or quality over the years.
