Question The last gas car

Hi Guys,

Considering my age, I am recently seriously considering to purchase a 997 Turbo as the last gasoline car in my life. As we all know in the coming decades electric vehicle will be the trend, and many countries/cities has announced the unfavorable laws to against gasoline motors.

So, I would like to collect a 997 Turbo and not going to sell it in a very long time. btw, I am not a Manual enthusiastic, and the traffic in the city i live is not friendly to drive manual. Question: 997.1 turbo or 997.2 turbo will be a better choice in terms of daily drive, maintenance, and future value? Thank you for anyone replies this.

ps. i am driving Mercedes GL, BMW 3 convertible, and used have a 993 C2.

IMO the manual 997 is going to be the model that increases In value the most but if you want auto I would grab a .2 PDK car.

I used to own a bmw z3 mroadster with manual shifter, I also enjoy shifting gears myself. It is not until recently when I read about the Pdk transmission in the 997.2 turbo and turbos that I decided that a quick shifting transmission is just as good for me. I took the plunge and purchased a 2011 turbo s recently and never regretted my decision. Go test drive and you will be sold. Good luck!

Why even bother about resale values?
The obvious choice for you must be a .2 PDK. Great cars. Just not for me just yet.
