997.2 TT suspension upgrade time
Time for a suspension upgrade. Thinking of coil overs for my 2010 997.2 TT. I do not track the car, will take it out for fun runs up through the mountains. I have been considering KW, H&R, BC Racing and Bilstein. Any suggestions or thoughts of the items listed? Thank you in advance for your reply's.

Are you 100% fixed on coilovers?
If you're not planning to track the car, I would say Bilstein B8's with PASM functionality, Eibach Pro-kit springs or GMG springs, and the TPC DSC control box. Throw in the GMG front & rear sway bars (or OEM GT2 sways), TPC drop links and RSS rear toe steer kit. This would make for a perfect street / canyon suspension setup IMO. Plus retains the PASM functionality.

I’d go for the DSC first, then rear sway, followed by springs, and if necessary B8’s.
The first two are low cost and easy to install at home. They’ll make a significant difference for road work and will likely deliver everything you’re looking for. If not you can progress through to shocks.

Cstyles nailed it. That’s what I’m doing, just need the B8s, have GMG, DSC, GT2 RS rear bar. Analogous to X73 sport suspension. Perfect for street play

For a Non track car, where vast improvement in handling while keeping the PASM operational, this is great advice.

Over the winter I'll be accumulating the remaining pieces I listed above in preparation for next season. The sway bars are supposed to make a night & day difference on our Turbo's so I am looking forward to those.
OP, have fun with your research and parts accumulation, it's almost as much fun as getting to drive the car once the work is done.

Also...witch this setup...is there an ideal alignment spec to follow for a daily driven car. Great handling, but conscience of tire wear etc.

I think I read in an article somewhere that the Bilstein B8's with lowering springs were originally designed as OEM X73 sport suspension option for the 997.1TT but that Porsche abandoned the project and never offered X73 for the Turbo.
The GT2 rear sway bar part # is 997.333.701.94. It's only a few hundred dollars from your local Porsche parts desk if I remember correctly.

I just wanted to further support that you should try out the DSC controller. Just installed it yesterday on my 997.1 Turbo and am very impressed. I thought the OEM shock tuning was quite poor/floaty. The DSC controller really tightened it up and am now very satisfied with the handling. May add a GT2 rear sway to dial out some understeer but thats about it.
A word of advice of going down the road of coilers, spherical bearing, camber plates etc..... you can make it better on the track but it will ruin it for the street in my experience. It will still not be close to an all out race car setup but will be much harsher on the street. Been there done that...not again.

Also, the X73 suspension for 996 turbo includes upgraded motor mounts. What's the consensus on motor mounts to go with Bilstein B8s and springs on 997 turbo platform?
