New Owner Intro/Ownership Thread 09 6MT TT
Well, after 7 months it happened. Bought THE car.
2009 997.1 6MT Basalt Black Turbo
-Color Matched Wheels
-Carbon Interior EVERYTHING to include carbon illuminated door sills
-Sport Shifter w/ Sachs 2.5 Clutch
-Speedtech 2.5in Catted System being swapped for 3in Catless system
-Cobb AP custom tune
-Champion Intercoolers
-Rennline Engine Mounts
-Pagid Yellow Brake Pads
-Bilstein Damptronics Suspension with Tarrett Links
-TPC DSC Race Module
-Currently has 62k miles, with a Fidelity Platinum Care warranty until Dec 2020 or 103k miles
-Brand new ceramic coat on car and wheels with new Xpel on front clip!
-Valentine V1 which has saved my *** on this roadtrip, along with Waze of course
The transaction with the seller was great, excellent communication and very wonderful to deal with. Flew to Texas Friday, picked up the car Saturday, and have been on my roadtrip back to North Carolina since then, stopping along the way to see friends.
I love this car, I love the torque, I love the sound, I love the look, I just love her. License plate will most likely say MEZGERTT(sorry guys its open in NC) or TORQ. Still deciding, TRQMNSTR is open also. Future mods will be Catless 3in System, and maybe headers if I ever go bigger turbos and injectors. Not sold on it though. I can barely handle the car as is!! Although with all the suspension work it handles better than my 987.1 Cayman S did!
I have plenty more to say, but I am tired. This will be my thread on mods and info on the car!
Some pictures from right before I picked it up.

And then the day I got it!

Wow that is a super nice build and a close cousin to mine, except basalt vs. std black! Congrats and enjoy!
I'd love to see interior pics as it sounds like the PO went wild with the C/F options sheet.

Congratulations on joining the club! Looks like a great example with good mods. That warranty should provide quite a bit of peace of mind, too. I'll second the request for interior pics!

Nice find OP, congrats.
Looks like there's a few interior shots in the link OP provided (and a funny Christmas card if you do some digging!)

3000 miles in about 10 days.
Drove from Austin, TX to Pensacola, FL to see my old flight school instructor who is also my mentor and best friend. Let him drive the car and I thought he was going to cry when we hit boost going over 9-mile bridge. Hopefully he will remember that when I ask him to help me break into Delta or American Airlines in a few years
From Pensacola went to Tail of the Dragon. Ran the Dragon twice, and OH MY LANTA. The car was hugging the road with its new MPS4s, and the sound when I got on boost past 4k RPM, I think I scared some of the photographers when I came out of the apex and throttled up.
Stayed at Tapoco Lodge, that place is so beautiful. I couldn't believe it, great price too and excellent service. Will surely be taking a lucky lady there for a weekend.
After that, took the car to Asheville, NC and drove around the Biltmore Estate. That was very cool seeing such a beautiful area. I would definitely go back.
After that took a short trip to Charlotte, NC to visit another friend and check out the guys at GMP Performance. I plan on having them doing my spark plugs and Speedtech exhaust swap, going to a 3in Catless system from the 2.5in Catted system.
Finally took the car home for a day before traveling to Annapolis, MD for my class reunion/Navy-Air Force game which was EPIC!!! Got a few complaints from the neighbors so I can't imagine what they would think if I had a chance to go Catless!
Car is back home, and after 3000 miles I don't think I could be more in love. It pulls, it's sexy, it demands respect. I may have had some fun on the highways with a Challenger Hellcat, E63 AMG, and Audi S5.
I will post pictures and videos after I get some to my computer.
Just picked up a Sunjoe 4000 Electric Pressure Washer, and Chemical Guys foam cannon with Honeydew Foaming agent. Next will be a MetroVac Air Force Revolution. Hopefully this will make my obsession with keeping my cars and motorcycles clean easier to handle.
Modifications to the car will be the Catless 3in system from Speedtech, and a new tune so I am not sputtering fuel.
Has anyone messed with antilag systems? Basically wondering how I can keep boost while shifting. If that is a simple fix please don't make fun too much, the only turbo car I had was a B5 Audi S4 and I owned it for all of 3 weeks.
