Default Thinking About Selling my Turbo Cab

I'm thinking about selling my turbo and would like some comments on how to market it and its value.

The car is an 08 997 Turbo Cab with 6 speed manual. Color is Midnight Blue with a Natural Tan Leather interior.

38,000 miles

Sticker costs add up to $155,500 and include the following:
- Full Leather Interior including thick leather steering wheel
- Heated Adaptive Sport Seats with Painted Backs
- Sport Chrono Package
- Parking Assist
- Bluetooth
- Optional hard top
- Integrated Escort laser/radar detector with dual antenna
- Full front end clear bra

The car is absolutely stock except for the options mentioned above. Cosmetic Condition is absolutely stunning. I've been encouraged to enter the car in concurs competitions which speeds to the overall cosmetics of the interior and exterior of the car.

Car is all original and has a clean Carfax.

I've attached some pictures and am asking for comments on what the car is worth today and suggestions on how to market the car.

TIA

What did you pay for it recently.. I can't imagine the market value has changed that much?

Gorgeous. I guess you'd just look at every car for sale on cars.com, autotrader, ebay and Rennlist in that same model year with about the same miles and condition and lower the price by $100 and stick it on those same sites if you have the time and energy (or maybe just cars.com).

I only used cars.com to sell cars and have never had an issue this way. They usually have sold pretty fast since I priced them well.

Your mileage may vary.

The car was advertised for $73,500 in the winter. I bought it for slightly less than the asking price.

That's a fair question. Simply, the turbo really has too much power for driving around the Chicago area.

I'm used to winding out my Porsches, which is a large part of the overall driving experience for me. Because of the huge power, and living in a city, it is impossible to wind this car out (except in 1st gear) without hitting speeds 3 or 4 times posted limits.

Second and third gears are where I spend most of my time with the car, which takes a lot of the fun out of the car.

At high speed this is the best handling Porsche I've ever driven (and I've had 10 of them). It's just difficult to keep my speed down on Chicago's flat and boring straight streets.

Chicago has no mountains or mountain roads. The most fun with this car was when I drove it out to the PCA Parade this last July. In the mountains I passed through, the car was fantastic. If I lived in the west or in California, the car would be phenomenal and I would not be contemplating selling it.

That's a good reason, I think. I only feel like it's worth taking mine out if I'll be doing highway miles or backroads stuff. Putting around town at <30mph just feels like it's wasting it.

Max speed limit along eastern seaboard is 65 mph. Even my 1991 C4 could eclipse that w ease. Going max RPM in any 911 GT2/3 variant car places license in jeopardy.

If it was a coupe, I'd probably buy your car in a heartbeat mate haha, been shopping the last few months, very few local listings pop up in our area.

I feel your pain, living in Atlanta with its atrocious traffic I have been having the same internal debate. Driving a car close to its limit is a large part of its fun and with these cars you need an autobahn or a track. I've been wondering if a 2011 boxster spyder manual might be the way to go.
