"Safest" amount of boost on stock block 997.1TT
Good evening all,
I have a 997.1TT with a protomotive kit. The car is flash tuned and I currently run it a 1.2 bar. I was wondering if I could run 1.5bar (21lbs) safely on pump gas. Thanks!

I doubt it. So many variables here it's hard to give an answer without knowing basically everything about the motor and the tune. Also, what octane rating is your pump gas?

You would need to datalog it to see if you have any detonation at 1.2 bar. If not then you can try raising it a bit until you get detonation then back off. I have seen 21 lbs with stock turbos but usually for a short time and then it drops towards redline.

CFM = Cubic Feet per Minute just as it was stated above.
For example, both Turbos/Superchargers could produce 20PSI, but one pushes 1000cfm and the other one pushes 1200CFM. The 1200CFM unit is more efficient and will make more power at the same boost #.
But you already knew that...

my previous tune was pushing 24lbs boost IIRC and that is why my cats likely failed a couple years ago. I'm not sure what is safe but it seemed to be way too high which is why i got my car retuned.

Was the car done by Protomotive? If so, give them a call. They'll be able to look up the car by VIN and tell you all of the info that you'll need and want to know. Plus it's good to establish a relationship with them incase something does go wrong later down the road, it'll be easier to trouble-shoot.
