Input regarding purchase TT, TTS and GT3

I would have loved to get a GT3 or better yet a GT3RS instead of the TT but when I was shopping I couldn't justify the reality of paying over original sticker for a .1 997 all of which are 8+ years old at this point.
I have no need for practicality so the rear seats mean nothing to me (I realize others' have different requirements).
The NA mezger is particularly compelling thing for me especially the sound it makes but the fact is that I can get most of the same experience at a lower pricepoint (i.e. I paid $70k for a 30K mile '08 TT at a dealer versus the cheapest GT3 I saw in similar condition was $85K in a private sale).

I owned a 997.1 6-speed manual and now a 997.2 PDK.
Can't go wrong with either.. If you want go-to-jail-fast right out of the box, get the 997.2. 2 mods and you'll annihilate anything. If you don't care about that, want to save a few bucks, have to have a manual, get the 997.1.
I haven't owned a GT3 but I've driven one. You have to really wind it out to have any fun on the street.

Porsche replaced the 957 series Cayenne with the 958 series in 2011, it was also the SUV of the year. They made a lot of major changes that IMO dramatically improved Cayenne quality, reliability and performance. I know, I owned a limited edition 2010 CGTS Design Edition 3 (957) that was a maintenance POS, thank goodness I had an extended warranty! After that bad experience I swore I would never own a Cayenne again. But, I began to read about how good the 2011 and newer Cayenne's were and after a lot of looking and learning made the plunge and bought my current 2011 CTT. It was an excellent choice and I'm glad I overcame my earlier bias. So, if you're looking for a Cayenne start with a 2011 or newer model 958, preferably a turbo or turbo S and enjoy the ride. You won't be disappointed.

JMO, but 09 997.1 6MT coupe for "fun factor and driver engagement", long term resale value, increasing collectability, not as fast as a TTS but fast enough, 3.6L bulletproof Mezger GT1 engine, no physical difference between the two, last year 997.1, lower production numbers, PCM 3.0 (same as 997.2) and better return on investment.

Very old news, but when I was going to replace my '05 C2S in early 2009, at first I planned to order a '10 GT3, build to suit, PTS, and was first on my dealer's list for one. But I was researching how to add rear seats (it's been done before, but complicated) as my kids were still young. Finally ended up going with my '09 TT, pretty much perfectly optioned (PCCB's, Adaptive Sport Seats, Short Shifter, Thicker Leather Steering Wheel, Limited Slip, MT, Red Taillights, Sport Chrono ... pretty much exactly what I would have ordered if I picked the options). Clearly best for my use as a DD, kid hauler, even grocery getter. Awesome power out of the box, but not that expensive to add serious ponies if you want to get an exhaust and tune. Sure, TTS is alluring, but it's probably overkill for the high premium in cost. Eight years later, I am still in love with my TT.
Two posts above are spot on. JMHO.
