Default Fidelity Platinum Care Costs

Gents, just wondering how much you all paid for your aftermarket warranty needs?

Still on the hunt for the perfect GTS or Turbo, and the right Turbo may have popped up. 09 with approx. 31k miles 6MT.

Trying to figure out how much I should expect to pay for the warranty to save me from the coolant or spun camshaft monster!

Can't help on the warranty, but can you share what the asking price is on that car? Is it a coupe?

Although not a Turbo, on my S4 I paid around $3500 when I did the Platinum Warranty. I would expect it to be around $4-5k considering it is a 2009 even with 31k miles.

I would say that $80k or a bit more would be fair considering an 09, depending on options.

Hard to say, which is why I asked. It seems like on the usual sites it would be listed in the $80s but even with the 09's premium that never seems realistic to me as an actual selling price. Like Bxstr said, PCCBs, aerokit, adaptive sport seats, etc. would make a difference.

Adaptive seats are awesome though. So that is definitely something you would want. In a weekend car I wouldn't be as concerned with XM. Simply because you could have it on your phone, and play it through Aux.

Check out this thread, people have been putting recent prices there, I am one of them, can't say enough about Mike at Mossy Motors, his price just cant be beat.

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/884419-fidelity-platinum-extended-warranty-recent-prices-here-9.html

i paid $43xx for 7yr/70k on an 07 Turbo with 16k miles and 250 deductible. In 6 months it's already paid out almost $1500.

Same warranty bought from a local dealer would have been $7-8k.

Mike can give you quotes via text, it's very simple to do to get an idea of how much they will run. His info should be in that thread, if not PM me and I can send it to you.

Just got my first quote back, 3yr/36k miles Platinum care is a $3960. GTS is like $2200 for 4yr/48k miles.

Will Fidelity cover a possible coolant rupture? Seems like they cover the spun camshafts without question.

When I researched 09's I think the coolant and/or spun camshaft issues from the 07's and 08's had been resolved. I've never heard or read about the problem occurring in 09's. Am I wrong?

I haven't heard that, or read that anywhere. Would be nice but...if I get a Turbo I cant just "hope" nothing goes wrong. Especially since it will be a drivers car, and will probably get that full 3yr/36miles driven on it haha.
