First drive and a couple of warning lights... safe to drive?

1. Check engine light on solid amber: manual says check fuel cap or perhaps exhaust/catalyst problem. Fuel cap is on tight.

2. Engine coolant warning flashing red and temp showing cold/needle is hard left (engine is definitely warm): Pink antifreeze level is fine.

Thoughts? Implies probably sensor issues.. but want to check since I don't know the car.

So you just bought the car?

Sometimes many, many warning lights come on when a battery is low on charge, but just a few lights like yours doesn't seem common for that.

Looks like 29 K miles - so unlikely the cats are bad, unless the exhaust has been modified.

We need more info on car, mods etc.

Decided not to take any chances.. so it's at the dealership to be looked at Monday.

What's the story on this car? Where was it or did you find it?
Did you do a PPI?

The check engine and the lack of a temp reading are most likely related.

i had the same light on my 07 C4s while driving on or around 70 mph and car shut off. Pulled over and restart and service light came right back on. Checked oil level and add ct of oil. Light gone after a few miles
