Default Thoughts on a scissor lift?

I was thinking of buying a scissor lift for my home garage. My space is kinda narrow and don't have too much height so some of the more industrial options seem to not be feasible. I would like to be able to accommodate a motor/trans drop along with suspension work. Any particular models that folks recommend here? Would I be able to get enough height out of a scissors lift to be able to drop the motor/trans? Thanks for your help!

Excellent! Very nicely done. It seems like this model would also provide the height necessary for dropping a motor. If I was to drop the transaxle along with motor, are there any obstructions that would prevent this?

Is there enough room to drop an engine or does the rear crossbar have to be cut like a few of the 993 guys have done?

I have a low ceiling height restriction, wanted full under-car access and went with: I looked at a number of options including Bend-pak & Nussbaum and decided on: https://www.maxjaxusa.com/buy-purcha...FdiLswod2nEKvw

It is not a scissor lift, but it met my needs

had one quite a few years they are good for most jobs including dropping your motor/trans......make sure you place the car right there is a big weight transfer when the assembly comes out. i got mine from gregsmithequipment.com in del you can make great deals for cash and self pick-up. DO NOT get a cheapie/light weight one .....get at least a 4000 pound capacity/120 volt ....harbor freight makes some bottom line scary tip over ones ....

i have a cement floor so there is no sliding unless you drive/brake too hard over them. i made my ramps out of wood in sections ....there are jobs that you want the ramps out of the way, mine hung on the wall out of the way
