Default Hello and wheel question...

Hello all; recently acquired a .1 GT3 and it has nice, but 20" wheels. Tire sizes are 245/30/20 & 325/25/20. I do get rubbing occasionally. Am assuming there's no reason not to drop down to stock tire sizes with 19s? Looking at OZ Ultraleggeras.

20s are huge on a 997. 19s are fine, but many do prefer 18 as well. also is the hood wrapped black or is it actually black?

Thanks.

It's a carbon fiber hood.

Best wheels for a 997 GT3 are the stock wheels or BBS E88.
The rest looks ricy and aftermarket.

Good example with stock wheels.

Agreed; which is why I like the Ultraleggeras - close to OEM.

I guess the guy who originally bought the wheels didn't think to play with the rear offsets to mitigate that...

True, it baffles me why anyone would - especially on a GT3 - go for the bling factor with oversized wheels.

good question, of course Porsche has been increasing the wheel diameter pretty much with every new generation GT3 ...

Right, but at least the new generation was designed for 20" wheels.

Your GT3 will come to life if you get it on some 18" or 19" wheels. The 20" really changes the feeling all around. If you need any help we would be happy to assist.
