Default 997RS Alignment question

Gent's,

The RS I just purchased has been lowered for track use and I have no idea of the alignment spec. I'm inclined to put it back to stock ride height and stock alignment spec. Or maybe the suggested Porsche track spec for the RS? My thought is that I do not know this car (997) well and that I should start from scratch. Any and all recommendations welcome...

Thanks in advance..

Probably take it back to stock and go from there...then align depending on how you will use it. They have so much range of adjustment, you can adjust it to your use!

Best for street I found is factory 4.0 settings. I just had my .1RS done and here are the results.

Thanks for the 4.0 spec. I assume this falls somewhere in between stock .2 RS spec and a track spec?

Out of curiosity - does anyone have stock GT3 and RS specs?

Both spec's should be on page 240 of your manual...

If you are using the car mostly for spirited street driving with occasional track use the specs below works very well. There's more than one way to achieve a certain set of numbers on these cars which will produce different driving results on the same set numeric values on paper. Having an alignment/race shop that has specific knowledge on the GT3 suspension design to do the work is highly preferred. Dealers that have motorsport involvement/experience is a good option as well.

Factory ride height
Front camber -2.0
Front toe 0
Rear camber -1.8
Rear toe +14' (toe-in per side)

^^ this is very true.

If your car has been setup by a race shop and you want it stock they need to pick apart the adjustments. There are quite a few ***** to turn on these cars. And several of them aren't reflected in the basic alignment numbers.

Thank you Tom! That is the intended use of the car. I'm starting from scratch on this car and it's also my first 997RS. You and Spyerx have a wealth of knowledge obviously on set up of this car. I will use these specs to start. You got them to me just in time as it's going to Porsche of Minneapolis in the morning. They have set up some track cars, have a dyno and doe corner balancing. We'll see if they can get it done.

Thanks again-

Are they really the factory 4.0 specs? I would have imagined they'd be more aggressive for such a focused car.
