Hi Mooty, thanks for the response!
As a 19 year old guy who is obsessed with Porsche since he was 7, I have had the chance to experience many Porsche cars (991R, 991GT3, 2.4S, 964 Targa..etc), but I can't experiment by driving them yet (too young, too green).
Please could you explain what made you pick that order?
I'm looking to learn as much as possible about these cars from the perspective and experiences of owners like yourselves.
Cheers!

I would go 4.0 just because it's a perfect mix of visceral and engaged driving along with modern comforts and beauty. That being said, no modern car can tingle the senses the same way as an early car. The smells and overall mechanical feel of driving an older aircooled car let alone a Cerrera RS are just impossible to replicate! The Carrera RS is to my eyes, the absolute most aesthetically pleasing 911 of all time. But if you could only choose one car to drive for the rest of your life and values meant nothing, I'd choose the RS 4.0 for the broader spectrum of what it can do so well.

I couldn't agree more with your views.

OR empty like mine.

I will take your word for it.
At the moment, what's partly putting me off the 4.0 over the 2.7 is power steering/braking and the PASM.
To me, theoretically, it makes the 2.7 sound more connected with the driver, but what would I know.
Cheers!

why of course, i wake up with 600mg of ibuprofen for breakfast.
spend 30 min stretching so i can walk without my knees creaking...
both cars are very connected to the driver.
but the 2.7 is lighter (i dont have one, i just have a long hood with a 3.2 so i am "guessing") and my long hood mutt is light. feels really different than 4.0. very ahrd to explain.
its not that 4.0 is a dull hammer but the long hood's lack if wait and very very light front end makes it very delicate.
2.7 ballet with a 98 lbs ballerina
4.0 waltz with a 115 lbs beauty
it's best to have both.... and i am working on it.

I blew up my 73 T at a TT in Vegas back in the day. When the local shop owner (Carl) finished building it up to a 2.8 RS with new Webers he picked me up at the airport in a
white 911 2.7 RS.
Not as fast as mine but a magical car for sure.

Coincidentally, my mother happens to be a 115 lbs beauty.. and a nurse.
Since a full time exchange would be unethical, I suggest we work out a part time exchange with the 4.0, you know.. till your knees stop creaking.
That analogy made me see a bit of light!
Cheers!
