997 GT2 RS => CGT : Trade???

I'm considering a trade of my 2RS (pristine, 1,000 miles, never tracked, yada yada yada) for a CGT. There obviously are a number of factors driving a yay/nay decision - the cars themselves, their perceived and forecasted collectibility, their relative values, etc. I haven't yet settled on a firm view, so thought I would solicit input from this esteemed group to make things clearer (or not 😉
.
A bit more color first. Either car for me likely is to remain a collectors piece first, occasional sunny Sunday driver second. As a result, I'm only considering like-for-like trades (not necessarily in $, but in condition). In other words, I'm not interested in a 10,000 mile CGT. I'm quite content to own either happily for years; this isn't an opportunistic flip, though this is where one must pay attention to relative values.
Without getting into my personal ledger for each, I'd welcome thoughts from the group. Thank you kindly in advance!

Don't laugh with this next comment.. although bare in mind all the 997 models in widebody came from the same chassis and shell. Everything is bolted on. Be it a 997 GT2RS OR a 4.0
I essentially have a GT2RS with the supporting modifications I have made to by 997 turbo.
I have the exact same, turbos, clutch, intercoolers and superior suspension being that its ohlins.
the CGT in terms of character and unique construction styling is the winner.
any car with a carbon monocoque is in a league of its own.

There is a lot of truth in this statement. ^^^^
The one thing the gt2rs has is low production numbers. The CGT is a way more special car but produced in bigger numbers.

I am a 911 guy and not a Porsche guy or other sports car guy. I have a GT2RS and I would not swap it for a CGT. I could have bought a new 918 but it didn't do anything for me, and the CGT did not do anything for me when new or now.
If this were an investment move,I would not invest in cars. If it is an emotional move, I'd say this is win-win. Best of luck.

both is best
if only one and for collecting only : CGT
some feel GT2RS is a modded turbo or such. from a collector point of view, they missed the big picuture. the fact that 2RS is limited to 500, it trumps turbo. even if turbo is faster or what not. collecting is avbout the "name plate".... i have collected many things... way more variety than you can possibly fathom. the "name" is what you collect not substance.

Thank you for the thoughts. All interesting and worth taking onboard. Without question the CGT is a special car, but I believe in its own right the same is true of the 2RS. Perhaps, mechanically, it is akin to a bolt-together 911, but from a collectors - dare I say desireability - perspective, the 2RS clearly is a totally different proposition. The interplay of all these considerations make the answer to my question less obvious to me...but then again I've always been a bit slow (though I'm quickly coming around to the suggestion "why not both" indeed )

I'm with mooty. I have had worked GT2 and others. A CGT with its 5.7 V10 NA engine, is in another league as a car. Both name and substance wise. Especially with modern rubber fitted
