Default RE-71R on 19's

Did anybody run their GT3 at the track with the RE-71R?
Impressions?
Handling vs your benchmark tire?
Lap times - Improvement or not over your benchmark tire at your fav track?

Thanks!

I've had RE71R's on my 2007 for a few months now. 255 front / 305 rear. I've only driven them in the dry at a local track and autocrosses, but they're pretty damn impressive for a street tire. Much better grip than the Yoko AD08R's I had before. I haven't timed my laps yet but I'm certain they're faster. They're definitely more comfortable to push hard. And of course they wear out faster too, but that comes with the territory.

I have tried them on 19's with good success compared to the SC2 and tried them in 20 at COTA on CHIN weekend held up very well with 2 drivers back to back sessions. I will use them again at Fontana next week.

Thanks for that!

Any comment on how they feel in terms of balance and grip vs SC2? Any comparative laptimes?

i use 18's on my 6 gt3.
very impressive for a street tyre.
~ 4 seconds a lap faster than yoko ad08s at chuckwalla.
but
i am a mediocre track guy that drives to grip, not slip.

doubt you will go wrong if you try them.

I will go out on a limb and say the RE71Rs are better than the NT01s...mainly because you get more HCs out of them and they are good in the rain.

This is the question I'd like to get a feel for our cars... I've seen a few comparos where laptimes are comparable with NT01, but I don't think I've seen one with GT3. Considering weight distribution, propensity to understeer, etc it'd be good to have data on our kind of cars...

Well, I ran them on my GT4 and also ran the Cup2s and Dunlops and the RE-71Rs were about .5 second faster than both of those other tires. They don't fall off and don't get greasy like the NT01s do after 6+ hot laps (as long as you keep the hot pressures under 33-34). Best street/track combo tire on the market in my opinion.

I'm gonna have to give them a try... any indication on alignment needed (camber)?

I went fairly aggressive on the camber as I'm fairly quick...3.5 front and 3.2 rear.
