But if you missed the boat on the 997 GT3 and must have a stick to relish the days of when you had a 964 or 993, then the manual is for you.
This. Remember the 6spd e60 m5 everyone clamores for? Or on the e9x platform? It worked (and I still prefer) but it was clumsy in comparison.

I can't believe you'd say such a thing without driving a 991 GT car with a manual! Is GT cars we're talking about,am I right?!
Just drive an R or a 991.2 GT3 with a manual and you will change your mind,I'm willing to bet!

^ i think it's personal.
i cannot say what i will get. maybe one of each.
but i have 3 friends all hace 991RS and 991R. they were all asking me to sell their RS. but i failed to do so b/c of the price they wanted. now their R arrived. all three are keeping both . but all three said if they can only have one, it's the RS hands down. and they do not track now, but very accomplished club racer in past. that is not to say pdk is better than stick. they all have a lot of other stickshift, 73RS, speedster, 964RS, 993RSCS. so that may have tainted them one way or another. OP. u asked a question that cannot be answered without emotion.

i ride on campy super record. it is $$$ but it's POS comrepared to DI-2. but you know, i am a campy guy. i cuss when they fail but i keep buying super records. i think stick pdk is like that. you just have find one that fits you.

Hello to all. I have been follwing reenlist for a while in the gt3 991 forum. I put a deposit down last summer on a 991.2 gt3. My dealer just called me to make up my build so it seems I will get one. I would love to daily drive it. I drive 9 miles to work each way and the roads are prerry smooth. But trafic is pretty slow in the morning. Any advice?

Should I go manual or PDK?

Thank you for your input.

Don't be lazy in the morning. Starting working those calf and thigh muscles on your left leg with a 6MT.

Been in 991 PDK and 991 manual.
The car feels too modern and advanced for me to want the manual. Almost too big for a manual IMO. Not to say it is not enjoyable, just not the same manual experience as the 964, 993 and 997.
I rather go back in time for manual fun.

The GT4 in manual is fun, but it is a superb platform with PDK.

I never thought i would be a PDK guy....

PDKS

No risk of money shift and overrevs.
No additional investment in LSD and clutch replacement (Maybe they fixed it now).
I live where driving anywhere except on track is not much fun.
I prefer flappies on track, makes me feel like I'm in a racecar.
On track it let's me focus on driving. Manuals feel kinda clunky now.
I never loved heel and toe. A Necessary evil.
I love pounding the stick forward and back WRC style..
Nothing to prove after driving manuals my whole life, manuals seem like a badge of honor to some because not everyone can drive on well in the US. In Europe grannies can double clutch so rev matching isn't such a big deal in the old country and that's why the uptake is much higher for PDKS there than here in the US.

We're i to move to fun driving roads I would love to have a manual but it would be an old, sweet G50 lightweight 964 Hot Rod, maybe even a 3.2L.

Just more fun to be had in a narrow low HP car on public fun roads...
