More questions about brake pads/rotor replacement..
So, I was at the dealer the other week for an oil change and made the mistake of asking about replacing the pads on my 997.2. The service advisor told me the rotors wear with the pads and I will need to replace both the pads and the rotors at the same time.
This isn't something I'd heard of before and currently, my rotors aren't showing signs of cracking, though a small lip has formed on the outside. So is this actually the case, or if I will be okay simply replacing the pads and sticking with my rotors?

The simple answer is no, you don't need to replace them together. How much life is left on your pads? I believe they are 12mm when new. Now measure the rotor thickness. The minimum rotor thickness is stamped on the rotor hub. If a rotor is 34mm thick when new, usually it needs to be replaced when it reaches 32mm. If your rotor is 33mm thick and your pads need to be replaced you can safely slap a new set of pads w/o changing the rotor.
