Question Rotors - replace these?

I would appreciate any opinions as to whether this rotor needs replacing now or soon.

Cracks to rotor edge are a no-no.

yep. they are cracked to the edge, and also have long cracks that are continuous across the face- now are unsafe.

Do not let your rotors get to that condition. The FIRST crack that hits the edge inner or outer dump the rotors.

Thanks all. I will replace them.
Can someone explain what would happen if they continued in use?
Would they come apart in pieces? Or what?

This can happen. Can rip apart your pads, maybe catch and bend an upright or caliper, cause a lockup and spin... not good things.

just scrub speed in corners, don't brake

BR Racing in Los Gatos built the car for the previous owner. Bruce there told me to replace the rotors when the cracks reached the edges. Now they have done that, and community agrees, I will do that. I count 13 track days on them. I'd like them to last longer.
Re mainenance, for large jobs I like to go to BR, but not convenient as I live in Mill Valley. Modest jobs I go to Hi-Tec or S Car Go in San Rafael. Also use Griffin in Berkeley for tire mount/balance and alignment check.

Were those rotors slotted? If so, you need to replace before the slots are gone if the cracks don't reach the edge.

For longer life get AP Racing or Brembo Type 5 for the car.

Use a pad easier on the rotor. RT RE10, Endless MA45B, etc.
