GT3 RS for sale in SoCal- thoughts?
Wanted to call upon the wisdom of the folks here. I'm shopping for a RS and looking to trade my current 997.2 GT3 in for it.
What do ya'll think of this GT3 RS:

Any thoughts on the price or previous history on the car would be extremely helpful!
I don't mind a RS with higher mileage as i intend to track mine. My current 997.2 has 40k miles and is barely broken in

Well I hope to see it back on the track (just google VIN... its been enjoyed). I don't know the car. But, I know a few Grey/black over years have been tracked here. the one I 'do' know of specifically not sure it's for sale again, it was stripped/full track build and sold to PCA member here who put it all back stock and is enjoying on the street. (he's got a race car too). The previous owner of that car is driving a 991 cup now.
Cage is a GMG, could be one of their former customers.

During my search for a 7.2 RS vs. Scud (went with the Scud), I came across that car. I called the dealer (I think during Christmas Eve) and spoke to someone there about the car. The guy on the phone was very honest, saying that this was a tracked car, and had some over revs in range 2 on the DME report. Though it doesn't necessarily mean it's abused, the dealer admitted that that was a deterrent for buyers of these types of cars. He said the car was at Porsche Scottsdale (or somewhere in AZ) for several months and they auctioned it as they couldn't move it, so these guys picked it up.
If you know your way around tracked cars, then you can probably pick this up for a good price as it seems like the dealer understands it's a difficult car for them to move and they'd be willing to negotiate.
Good luck, and if you pick it up, let me know where you're going to track it (if you're in Socal)

have BBI do an inspection, offer 145. If you get it there this week I'll go by the shop and look at it. It is EASY to tell a car that has seen a lot of track time vs. not.
Range 2 are nothing.
These cars are stout. You're buying to drive. Not collect. This isn't a collector car!

Merit Partners has/had a 2011 with 19,XXX on the clock, clean DME (minus one very very brief Range 1), new brakes, new tires, new clear bra etc for $162K. Same color combo. I know he was close to selling it, but not sure if he closed the deal.

I know that small private dealership (PMC). I'm not a fan. Hidden problems in the cars (BMW's) I've viewed there

I bought another car and am waiting on delivery. I did see one at Hoffman Porsche that was a certified car. They wanted $175k. The car had the engine replaced under warranty so not sure how good or bad that is but I was considering going for it.
Good luck with your search!!

my meets tend to be at track days or smaller crew driving the malibu / oc / san diego canyons.
Unfortunately with the rain we're getting I'm just doing PCH cruises in the antique. The canyons get covered with crap, badly for weeks after rains. Especially ACH and Malibu.
