Default 100 Octane?

Turns out, I can get 100 octane from my local gas station for my DE-ing.

My question is; can I run this in my 997.1 GT3 without frying some sensor, or throwing the ECU out of whack, etc? Months ago, I saw something on this, but I can't remember the caveat. I have put about a 1/4 of a tank of 100 octane in with my 91 octane and it seems to run nicely. Thoughts?

Your car isn't designed for 100 octane. It can be hard on your cats and you won't get the extra power out of it. Mixing a little in your regular gas isn't bad though.

Higher octane fuel will do a better job at keeping combustion chamber temps down and preventing knock vs 91/93 on the track.

Chicagoland 100 octane is fine, contains no lead to fry sensors. Once you cross 104 you will find lead and fried O2 sensors and fouled cats. If the octane rating is not on the pump don't rely on the attendant to tell you (I know all this from experience) chances are they will be wrong.

You will not really feel the difference w 100 octane in an N/A engine, you will maximize your timing and clean your valves. Now a Turbo, 23lbs of boost and 100 octane........

Our local 100 is E0, which is a good thing. When I took my car to the track I put in about 3 gallons of 100/E0 to effectively raise my octane a point or two. Car ran fantastic!

Whether or not it's OK to run straight 100/E0, that I do not know. But I do know that our cars want 93 and I cannot get that straight from any pump near me.

Well, that's a lot to digest. I'm in AZ. I guess 1/2 and 1/2 would be okay?

As for the Corvette boys, 99% of them can't drive their cars, in the first place.

Where can you find 100 locally, is it only out by the track in Kent? I haven't found any on the eastside, just the E0 92 oct in Issaquah

Auburn, at their 76 station downtown. They carry 100/E0 all through the year, and it was $9.99/gallon when I was there last. Call ahead if you want to be sure of course!

At the track I always run 1/2 100 octane and 1/2 91 to prevent any knock. With my 996t, noticeable improvement although no tune for 100.

I have a tune for 100 and it is noticeable on track with data.
I just run 91 though. Call me cheap.
Or I know there is more time (lots) there for me to extract still.
With the Cobb tune I have for 91 I see no detonation in the logs or data pulls.... maybe it's. A bit more conservative than stock???
