Thanks for sharing Ilko. I've never had an issue with the "funny looking lights" on the 6. I'm just not a fan of the 6 interior. Definitely another one to consider though....

Growing up in the 90s, the fried egg headlights is what I'm accustomed to so they've never bothered me either.

I agree. The 996 does not look bad and I would say it looks good! Especially in person. It photographs horribly for some reason. Worst than most. 996 turbos especially.

But cmon. In the looks department there is no competition. The 997 is perfection.

Regarding the comparo it's pretty cool but one car was lowered and the other was "highered"? I think that guy posts on here.

I do love how on the 996 you can delete the cd stack and run it old school with just the high dash. Me likely.

a wise person once said "Time is porsches best friend"

Remember when nobody wanted a G body?
Remember when nobody wanted a 964?
996 is next... at least the GT2/3/turbo with the mezger. you can keep the carrera.

No hips is the deal breaker. Front lights horrible. I'm sorry but Porsche design team failed the 996.

No hips=less drag. When driving on track the car is dreamy, so I forget about the headlights and the color of my car. I do also love the shape of the 997.

Other than long-hood, I think 997 prettiest 911 in the lineup. It's an unfair comparison visually because they are arguably at the opposite ends of the visual desirability scale for 911s. I know appearance totally subjective but I'm not too far off general consensus on that statement.

Never driven a 996 gt3 but I bet I'd be willing to close my eyes to the 996 looks once I felt it's rawness and feedback.

So, what's wrong with fried eggs? Just add some Sriracha sauce.

IMO a stock 996.3 is ok. With a few mods it's amazing. 997gt3.1 is very similar in my mind.

I prefer look of 996.3!
