Default 2010/2011 PCM 3.0 Question

In my search for a decent 997.2 GT3 I'm finding some with have the PCM 3.0 w/ extended navi and some that don't have the PCM at all, but have the Sport Crono package.

My searching skills must not be that good because I can't seem to find out much details on the PCM 3.0 system.

So, what exactly would I get feature wise with the PCM 3.0?

Thanks again!

Sport Chrono is a gimmick. I prefer cars without it. Had it on my 997-1TT, have it now on my RS. Have not used it once. The PCM 3.0 has a menu for Sport Chrono that gives you some information on it but what it is I have no idea. I would imagine it keeps lap times in the memory, stuff like that. Haven't met anyone who uses at it frankly. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Default My 2010 GT3

has the 3.0 PCM. It is a radio and nav system. Pretty ****ty at both.

I don't have the "wart" sports chrono feature. It sits on the dash and provides a lap timer that is tied into the PCM.

My 3.0 was not optioned w/ Bluetooth, but I added the factory parts (which includes mics mounted inside trim above the steering wheel). It took a trip to the dealer to "code" my 3.0 to accept the factory Bluetooth feature.

Mine works fine - navi / blue tooth / radio all work well and I use them all

Bluetooth phone call is tough given car noise though

So, if I'm reading things correctly.... a GT3 with sport crono w/o PCM will have the "wart" on the dash but no tie into the main audio touch screen?

Also, does the PCM 3.0 have any features it shows or controls in the gauge cluster?

Default I think all 2010 & 2011 GT3s have

the 3.0 PCM. Only some have the additional "wart" at extra cost.

I don't know for sure, however.

Meanwhile, see this link for the 3.0 PCM owner's guide posted on another forum.
