Hi All,
New here. Just picked up a .2 RS. I searched for the last two days and count find anything. My Car has the sport chrono without PCM but has the bluetooth and aux interface. Can I get the PCM 3.0 installed? Is that possible? Happy to disable the Sport Chrono, but wasnt sure if its just a head unit swap or theres other things with the harness, etc that need to be done. Thanks!

It would be great to be able to control my iphone through the screen and see song name, etc.

You can install a PCM 3.0 but it will need to be coded by a dealer. And it will have limited functionality. It's not worth it just so you can change songs on an iPod. Run the aux interface and change the songs directly from the phone/iPod.

She won't be too happy once she realizes it still sounds like crap and you spend $4k for nothing... really, there is so little sound deadening stuff, you can't really hear much over engine and road noise.

so after driving the car for a bit, you all were right. Just having the aux cable wired in but the radio sounds like ****. The sharkwerks turned out to be the racing exhaust. You cant hear anything in that car but its awesome. I am just going to keep as is and not worry about modifying it.

If my car was ordered with 490 or 870 (I think those are the option codes) it would be a very quick swap, but no luck. Like I said, the crappy aux is good enough for me. I use waze 100% of the time anyway.

Actually the difference is YUGE! My GT3 had the standard radio: CDR30 + 2 door speakers. The epitome of awful. The RS came with PCM 3.0 and sound package plus. I can now actually listen to music in the car and the sound is quite good.
However, the real problem is that these cars have so little insulation that the noise from the engine and the road is much louder than a regular 911. But the better stereo definitely makes a difference.
