My 2007 (2008 model year) GT3 RS (gen 1) C16 (UK spec) chassis number ends in '0187'. These last four digits refer to the exact build number of the car - so my car is 187....this much I understand. Of the 1909 gen 1's built for the worldwide market where would my car fall into the overall sequence of production ? Would it be the overall 187th car off the line with production starting at no.1 ? Would it be the 187th C16 UK spec car ? ... or was production batched or phased in any other way that may means it wasn't actually the 187th off the line ?

Just curious to establish where my car falls into the overall production run.

The first production car is usually 0061, and there are two series, one for the USA (and Canada), the other for the rest of the world.

So your car is the 127th of the rest of world, 2008 MY, quite an early car in fact.

Hey 928CS that great info and something I certainly never knew. It seems an early car indeed on that basis . Im stumped as to why they start at build number 0061 but no doubt there is a hugely technical reason for this ! Thanks again

0001 to 0060 are reserved for prototypes and/or pre-production cars.
Of course, there are not used for every model-year.
