Can i do this myself or do i need to take it in?

Need to bring it in or have a very expensive computer :/

Dealer typically charges to reset ($50 is norm) but it's quick and no cost to them so I usually guilt them into doing for free.

Look for durametric tools. It pays for itself after 1 or 2 services.
I saw a while back a cheaper solution but can't find it anymore.

it can be done with Durametric, PIWIS or just pull out the instrument console fuse, wait several minutes and install it again.

Really! If that is true, I love it. I have been procrastinating in the Durametric investment for months.
