Synchro is not working well with cold amsoil in my experience.
The person I was talking to about this mentioned that the Amsoil treated transmissions he's taken apart have been in good condition (compared to the Dalvec treated). For all the reasons enumerated above this might be useful information, and it might not be...

Matt do you have the specific part/model? I'm not an oil engineering and there are Way too many choices on their website...

The only Synolec I see is a chain lube?

This is the syn gear oil in 75-90

5 gallons is only 5-6 changes :-)

More importantly is there a shelf life once opened. I "only" go through 2-3 gear oil changes per year. I've been very happy with Millers myself.

^Miller's is another good choice. Their product has been used with much success in sports-cars as well as in Indy Cars.

+1 for Millers. We use it on our rally dog boxes and they are by far the best. Was excited to see they were highly recommended by the Porsche crowd. I'll try LE stuff as well per Matt at Guards. Change fluid often and you should be good.

Gear oil isn't hygroscopic per say but best practice is to decant to a smaller clean container that can be sealed and will minimise the air gap to near zero. Also store in a cool, darkened area out of direct sunlight and peak min/max temps for the longest shelf life- If you have a win cellar, thats perfect and a good talking point

Just never open the gear oil in the wine cellar... Not the smell I'm looking for when tasting wine!

9920 75W-140
Edit: looks like they rebranded it as Monolec. It's still 9920 but it now called Monolec syn.

Yes, Miller blend excellent oils. A number of my UK customers have been using it long before we could get it here in the States. Some of the big name tuners over there that you read about in Total 911 and 911&Porsche World won't put anything else in their clients' cars.
