Default Pad Selection

Guys-

Just converted my .1 RS to steel in order to save my PCCB. Using Girodisc with Pagid RS29 pads. Having regrets w going full race pad given insane dust and noise. Wondering if there is a happy medium you guys can recommend? OEM? I only track this car once a quarter and I am intermediate at best so nothing crazy on braking.

Thanks for your help!

I swapped out the ceramics for Brembo and have the Race Technologies RE10 endurance pad. Here's a link with a description:

Here's Race Technologies' site: http://www.racetechnologies.com/

That said, I'd give the OEM pads a try. I was talking this week with the Service Manager at our local dealer about pads and he had just talked with the people running the Porsche Driving Schools and they run all stock pads and fluids at the schools and they do run the cars hard.

I would recommend RE10 for race use and TS20 for street use. Low noise and dust on the street while maintaining optimum performance and good bite.

I used to run Ferodo 2500s in my old E46M3 on street. They work OK, however when cold it's a bit of a pucker factor. They are terrible on track though, so it's not a dual purpose pad.

I haven't found a good dual purpose pad that could truly stand up to hard track duty or was quiet enough and easy on rotors.

Johny Boy-

I think you need to sponsor me with a dedicated track car from your stable. Your wife will be happy with you
