Did you go with the 3.5k or 5k unit?

One of the local BMW racers runs the quickjack, he has had no complaints.

We ran them all year on the BimmerWorld BMWs in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series. All the crew guys raved about them when they would have to work on the cars. As far as I know we never had any issues with them throughout the season. The only thing I know of is the 5k unit would not fit between the wheelbase of the Caymans ran under the same awning. The 3.5K units will work for a Cayman.

As for the weight rating the 3.5K are tested to double their ratings without a failure. And the same for the 5K units. For the money I would have bought these if I had known about them before I bought my Rotary lift in the garage. Much better use of space and easier to use than a permanent 2-post lift.

I have the AC. Nothing special required.

As an alternative to Jack Stands seems like getting under it is a death wish.
Don't see it as being faster or as stable for tire changing than 1-2 Jacks.

No they are not death traps. There is a safety lock built into the unit that won't allow it to collapse once it has lifted a vehicle. It is no different than a 2 or 4 post lift with a mechanical lock to keep a vehicle from falling down.

BendPak makes these IIRC, they have a good history with lifts as well.

From my research, the leaking disconnect issue has been solved. This is great news. Thanks for your input as well.

Are you sure the 5K unit wont work on Caymans? The 3.5K units go up to 50.5" max spread between blocks. Just measured my Cayman GT4 and I would need 55" to reach the jack points. The 5K units have a total length of 72.5" which should be enough to clear the tires and you would then have enough length to move the blocks to the correct position.
