So, what is the tire the non-RS 997.2 guys are using? I'm about to run out of mine in a few months, and wondering what I'm going to do. If I don't want to run Hoosiers, what's the next best tire to buy? I'm talking in the NT01 price range, not Trofeo RS or Michelin pilot sport cups.

Got it. I thought the RS had more room up front and could run a slightly larger tire. Question remains: any tire close to the NT01 price and grip/durability/handling?

I ran the 245/40 NT01s fronts and 335/30 RA1s rears on both my non-RS and my RS. I have the last set of my shaved RA1s and my car is back to OEM so I have no use for them anymore.

op told me it's for his canadian 996
996 needs 315 not 305.
315 is not rare and someone just offer up his full set on this thread.

I ran 245/40/18 and 315/30/18 on my 997.1 non RS and it worked fine. No ABS problems and I drive with TC off.

^ correct. if you turn TC and nannie off. it will be fine.
when they are on. it's really funky, i cnnot explain, but you WILL know it's not working.

all 7 can run 305 with TC on or off
all 7 can run 315 with tC off
all 6 should run 315

not all 7's can run 305's with TC on...sometimes mine goes crazy with them if I leave it on. Maybe it has something to do with aftermarket coilovers though.
Waiting on emtell to figure out if he needs 305's or 315's.

I don't want to front-run emtell, but I am also in need of a pair of 305/18's. I have 3 days in a row coming up in a week and a half and think I only have 2 days of tire left on my current NT01's. My tire guy said Nitto said the 305's are 3-4 weeks out, but that might not even be accurate. One day I'll get smart and order an extra set. Worst case if no one has a pair, I'll put on R7's.
