Default WSIR Turn 3 gear?

Anyone familiar with willow springs international raceway?

I have a 991 GTS manual. Posted in here because more track people here and manual

Finding that I can take turn 3 in 2nd but requires the upshift very quickly after on the uphill. May be better to take it in 3rd and just stay on throttle but doesn't quite feel like it has the pull/torque to get uphill fast

On stock rubber right now so maybe if I was on stickier rubber 3rd would be a sure thing with higher speeds.
Any input? Running 1:33s right now. Feel like I'm messing up that turn the most. Leaves me feeling confused and not sure what approach to use

3-4-5 at Willow. I use 3rd there. Not sure on your cars gearing. 2nd you'll be grabbing 3rd in a bad spot not worth the 2 extra shifts in my opinion. T3 should be a 65-70 mph corner.
My opinion but I'm not very fast there. That track scares me. Preservation instinct kicks in too much.

Depends on gearing, corner speed, and power/tq but I would suggest 3rd gear and try to keep your corner entry speed up. Second gears makes it easy to spin wheels. Less busy is good.

my 2 cents

yes this was what I was trying to get at, you're in the sweet spot of the power curve going into a section that's easy to break traction in...That corner can carry more speed than you think, that hill to the right exiting and the ditches around it confuse me.

that seems to be the consensus but it just feels like 2nd pulls up the hill so much harder...but that shift into 3rd may slow it down to make it null

Agreed. 3rd gear, and wait to turn in.
