this is ordered as spare for my 4.0
it will fit 3.8RS/non RS or any GT3 for that matter.
and non GT3 too
pls do your own verification.
this is NEW

is that a Porsche 997 gt3 short shifter? has it been used? I assume it does not come with cables.

it's a SHIFTER, no cables
what you see is the ACTUAL unit you get.
i do not know if it fits any other car. this is ordered specially for my RS4.0. i do not gauranteee fitment.

You are absolutely correct. It is nothing special. It is a plastic POS just like the 996 Cup shifter. Have run them and they are nothing but a boys dream ... meaning crap.
The Numeric shifter is superior to this OEM crap and the CAE shifter leaves them ALL wondering why did they ever existed as pathetic POS.
It is exciting to speak as a man with limited time.

I'm sure the CAE shifter is the squirrels nuts based on what folks have said. I'm not liking the numeric - feels awesome, but falling apart in new ways all the time. I finally removed my console permanently so I can fix it when it breaks.

numeric is good for many, but not for me. i take them out of any car i have and throw away.

CAE is nice as my bud PJS sears by it. i hate it. took it out and sold at 45% of msrp..

YMMV. got to get the right one for your car.

i replace my with 996gt3 one, i prefer the vague rubbery feel and super long throw.
