Default F430 or 997 GT3?

Anyone here have experience with the f430? 6mt appears to be rare and would be the only choice for me.

Prices have come down significantly over the last couple years. You can find a nice one for $120k easy.

How does an f430 compare to a 997.2 gt3 from an overall driving perspective for weekend street use? I would assume on the track the gt3 is superior.

Obviously maintenance and repairs are probably a lot higher, but for a car driven only 2k year might not be an issue.

I would think that as well considering how rare they are compared to the DCT version.

I simply did a sampling of the online websites.

I was debating between these two as well as the prices are so close. The manual would be the only way to go but I could not find any for sale that were manual. Did one pop up?

I doubt you can find a F430 coupe with manual transmission for $120k or in the range of a 997.1/.2 GT3

I had a F430 with paddles for a weekend. The transmission was crap. In auto mode, around the city it kept lurching and even stalled once at an intersection.

But even besides the transmission I wasn't too impressed. On back roads, compared to my 7.2 GT3, it felt big and wide and soft. It didn't feel faster either. The interior felt kind of felt old too. The V8 note is sweeter though.

But the worst part was the attention a (red) Ferrrari gets. You might or might not be okay with it, I definitely wasn't.

I still love Scuds. F430s? no.

If you can find a legit F430 6 speed manual for $120k, please let me know..I'll buy a second one. I bought one (not listed anywhere online) six months ago and I've been told by serious enthusiasts that the three pedal cars are ultra rare and prices have been heading north.

I also have a .2GT3. GT3 is more raw. F430 has a certain feel, especially at high speed, that can't be duplicated. Both are excellent cars. Can't go wrong either way. Buy the best example you can find.

Good luck with the search

I just looked at the ad images that state 6 speed manual and they are indeed the automated transmission.

I would take a gt3 every day of the week! The F car sounds better. That's about it! Don't forget it will cost you a LOT more to own and maintain.

6 speed 430s have gone up a lot lately. Several threads on Fchat chat about it

Personally I think the value of a 430 manual will go much higher in future years.

as others have said, you will not find a decent 3 pedal 430 for 120K.
i just bought a 360.
a friend asked how it compares to .1 GT3.
I told him GT3 is probably "better" in every way
i just wanted to try something else.
