Default I have my steering wheel extension !!! 997-1 GT3

Happy to tell you that I finally have found a steering wheel extension for my 997-1 GT3.
Gives more legroom and better control over my car.
It was a 30 minutes-job. Nicely made parts !
Mtech in Sweden and Carnewal in Belgium will supply them.
Sorry for the lousy "after"-picture....

How do you reach the control stalks without moving your hand significantly?

Yes, finger extensions would be a good idea.....
Fortunately I have big hands. They are just long enough to reach the stalks. But I admit it is a slight disadvantage of a spacer. But the extra control over the car and comfort of more room under the steering wheel for my legs are more important.

Please ask http://www.carnewal.com because I don't know. Maybe €uro 600-700 plus VAT.

You, sir, have helped a lot of people with this post, myself included.

Will this solution still allow for a functioning airbag and horn? I've read that extending the wheel does not allow the wires on the airbag module or horn to reach and would want to be sure those remain functional.

Yes, everything is still functional. The way this extension was fabricated makes it possible to use the wires as they are. So no worries on that point. The only thing is that the control stalks are damned far away from the steering wheel. But for me that is only a slight disadvantage.

This one looks like a solution. I'm in the same boat as nw with the functionality of airbag and specially the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Is the steering harness of a manual the same as the pdk?

lol I'm glad that the answer was a "yes" because I had ordered these already. They arrived last week and have been sitting in my house ever since.

Did you do the install yourself? Any tips?

BTW for those that are curious I paid 560 euro + 28 euro shipping.

Have no idea what the difference is between manual and paddle shifter. I think that there are differences....

I was the first who got the chance to install it on a 997-1 GT3. There were some mistakes in the manual. Told them what to change but do not know how the manual is written today. If you mail me the manual I can check....
