Default Seattle / Northwest for the Summer - Itinerary??

So it's too damn hot down here in the desert, or will be in a few weeks.

Had this wild *** idea to bring car up north for the summer. Use some of the massive qty of southwest and marriott points i have, visit some clients in seattle and portland, oh, and hit some tracks.

So question for those of you in the northwest... I know Cantrell is a possibility to assist. But, what about track days, and tracks? Would need to be weekends Sat/Sun. I'd probably just leave trailer there and rent a truck to tow it around, or something.

Say mid July through end of Sept.

Thoughts?

Tracks you have Pacific Raceway in Kent, WA. You have a raceway in Spokane, WA (6 hours east of Seattle) and Portland International Raceway in Portland, OR

you need to hit ORP, the Ridge and might as well hit Pacific Raceways.

June 19/20 @ Ridge looks to be a good event. Larger contingent on June 20th. Waiting to head back to Pacific Raceways in July with PCA. Best to look at motorsportreg. I would not bother with Mission Raceways across the boarder.

Chris

The Ridge is a must. I couldn't get ORP to work with my schedule last year and it is the one track I regret not running.

My favorites:
ORP - Porsche Train
Ridge - Turn 2

Relaxed attitudes and lots of seat time.

i've been to the following tracks, a few thoughts on them. they are all worthing driving at least once if you're up there!

if you need a shop/trailer parking spot, i might be able to set you up with something in redmond

WA:
pacific raceways, aka (SIR); fun track, don't like the back section..lots of trees
spokane raceway, long front straight, but not quite as long as WSIR
the ridge, reminds me of thunderhill, but more green. supposedly designed by the same person who did thunderhill. i'll be there racing this weekend and will have some feedback. t

OR:
oregon raceway park (ORP), lots of elevation and blind corners, really fun!
portland international (PIR), fast, flat, careful with the chicane in the wet or you can end up in a wall

Spyerx,

What is your plan? Truck and trailer? Fly and drive?

PJ and I will be at ORP at least once a month. As club members, we have guest passes. You are welcome to tag along with us. We are the Monday/Tuesday club days. July 13/14, Aug 17/18, Sep. 14/15.

Cantrell is having private track at the Ridge August 28th.

Pacific Raceways is fun, but dangerous, horrible pavement, and I choose to not visit. Portland is 'okay'

I would do ORP in September. ORP is the best track hands down.

All good info in here so far.

Ridge is awesome, about 100 miles outside of seattle
Pacific is a good track, but surface needs some work, still a ton of fun and really challenging. bring your cojones because there aren't good runoffs. DON'T lift in T1
Portland International Raceway (PIR) is solid
Oregon Raceway Park (ORP) - haven't been but have heard it's great.
Spokane also supposed to be good.

Running Groups:
Hooked on Driving
Turn2
Proformance (bring a driver's log book or just get in touch with Don or Donna and give them your experience and they'll probably give you a pass on needing to do the sport school first)
PCA is supposed to have some good events with experienced drivers.
BMWCCA
Cantrell Motorsports has already outlined some dates that they'll be on track too.

The Ridge is running Tuesday "test days" which equate to open track day... First one is June 16th.

Turn 2 is good to run with
ORP with Porsche Train is a must. It's on my must do this summer...
Cantrell days are nice, 2 run groups...

Still a fan of open track days, so hopefully the Ridge will run more "test and tune" days...
